Us
We grew up
in the same small town, went to the same school and had many of the same
friends. Oh cute, it’s so Sweet Home Alabama! No, not exactly. First of all,
Ryan knows nothing about making glass out of a combination of lightning and
sand. And second, we didn’t connect until midway through college and even then
it seems we found each other before we truly found ourselves. We fell in love,
had a baby, lived together, lived apart and in September 2010, we got married.
Yes, in exactly that order. Our story is far from traditional, but that’s okay
because it’s exactly that…ours. And you know what? It’s pretty darn good.
Tyler
Yes, I am
his mother and therefore biased, but this one? He’s incredible. He is. It’s not
opinion, it’s fact. He has more personality packed into his tiny, five year old
little pinky than most people have in their entire body. He’s clever, funny and
he has this uncanny ability to both piss me off and make me proud all at the
same time. His imagination amazes me and a full nights’ sleep and a double
espresso couldn’t give me his energy. He’s sweet, sensitive and above all that?
He has the ability to change the course of a life. He does. Trust me, he
changed mine.
Matty
Our first indication
that life with this little guy would be anything but dull? He was born three
weeks ahead of schedule and exactly 9 minutes after we arrived at the hospital.
Strong-willed, easily frustrated and overflowing with love, Matty loves nothing
more than basking in the attention of.....well, everyone. His smile spans the width of his entire face and his laughter is infectious. To top it off? He’s
smart, just like his big brother. No, I’m not just saying that because I’m his
mama. It took the kid approximately 36 seconds to master the art of wrapping 3
human beings {and a cat} around his pudgy little finger. True story.
